Following the Star

Do I really need change in my life? What difference, really, would the Messiah make in my life? How would this “Christ” alter history anyway? These questions may have been going through Mary’s mind, Joseph’s mind and/or even the poorest of the poor marginalized, ostracized religious group, the Jewish people, in the Roman empire. The difference would be astronomical: an Empire would fall to its knees, people would seek the needs of others first, the hungry fed, the prisoner freed, the diseased (and dis-eased) healed, the shameful shameless, and the hopeless hopeful. Do we ever need change in our lives?

What difference would a transformative presence of God’s Love make in your life today? Believe with me, for some it may be a stretch, that today, right now, God’s Love has been made flesh in Jesus Christ and that Love is present in the world today. Put aside doctrinal, social and political differences–believe. What if Grace is True? What if Love is Real? It is. God’s presence is in our midst today. Look in the mirror, seek out a friend, feed the hungry, clothe the naked and see that it is you that just may be the presence of God in others’ lives. Follow the Star and believe . . .
